Stony Plain
A community of over 10,000 Stony Plain is home to more than 20 life-size murals painted by Alberta artists and a charming main street. Other highlights include the Multicultural Heritage Centre, an old brick school built in 1925 which now contains a public art gallery, a gift and craft store. Also on the grounds is Oppertshauser House, a living museum and antique store. Stony Plain Pioneer Museum with historical artifacts depicting the region’s heritage, Shikaoi Park, a tranquil garden setting with ponds and flowers designed as a tribute to Stony Plain’s sister town of Shikaoi, Japan, and Crooked Pot Gallery featuring clay and raku pottery by regional potters. Stony Plain Country Market
The Stony Plain Country Market is a lively Farmer's Market that runs May to Oct on Sat 9-1 at the Exhibition Grounds. Enjoy a hot meal from the concession by Krave Catering or grab an ice cream as you stroll the market. On several weekends throughout the season the market has a petting zoo and on Aug 2 we take our market to Rotary Park for Market In The Park! Come visit this great market - you won't be dissapointed!
