Stony Plain A community of over 10,000 Stony Plain is home to more than 20 life-size murals painted by Alberta artists and a charming main street. Other highlights include the Multicultural Heritage Centre, an old brick school built in 1925 which now contains a public art gallery, a gift and craft store. Also on the grounds is Oppertshauser House, a living museum and antique store. Stony Plain Pioneer Museum with historical artifacts depicting the region’s heritage, Shikaoi Park, a tranquil garden setting with ponds and flowers designed as a tribute to Stony Plain’s sister town of Shikaoi, Japan, and Crooked Pot Gallery featuring clay and raku pottery by regional potters.
